Peter Michaelian

Head of Design, Dolby

Peter has spent most of his 15 year career at design agencies between New York and San Francisco, working with a broad range of clients from startups to Fortune 500 companies. His last two years have been spent in–house as Head of Design at Dolby. He started his design career at Product Ventures and Smart Design before becoming a Creative Director at Frog and eventually joining Dolby. Peter’s experience in design engineering, industrial design, product strategy, environments, and UX has shaped his holistic approach to innovation. Designing for such a diverse group of companies, like HP, Logitech, Google, OXO, Cisco, P&G, Honeywell, Dolby and many interesting startups, have led to invaluable learning and growth. He has regularly taught as an adjunct professor of Design at The Cooper Union, UC Berkeley and CCA. He’s been awarded over 50 patents and has won 15 international design awards for numerous products that he has helped bring to market. Most importantly, he is also a strong supporter of Hawaiian shirt Fridays.

With decades of experience as a software trainer, Patti now works at Adobe as a Solutions Consultant. She shows Adobe clients how to optimize the Adobe tools to improve their workflow and add value to their solutions. She describes her job as “the best job at Adobe!” Patti has conducted demonstrations and presented to audiences of all sizes at industry events such as MAX and HOW Design Live, as well as to small groups and individual clients.
